When the padel started to arrive on the hexagon, the grounds were all with sand. Certainly the colors could vary with the most popular being blue, then green, pink, black, purple.

Visually the color of the field plays an important role for the players. But in recent months we have seen more and more land like that of World Padel Tour, that is, without sand. But apart from the visual what are the differences?

Sandy courts are faster courts, which require more maintenance and above all which allow players to glide and have a little more approximate downforce. It is true that on these grounds we are entitled to some spectacular falls, but a new carpet has appeared; the sandless land used by World Padel Tour for its tournaments.

Sandless terrain is completely different from sandy terrain. First, the carpet is more comfortable, and less traumatic for the joints. The supports must be more precise because the slips are impossible.

In terms of play, the rebound and the ball will be braked and the game slower. These fields are perfect for defenders and endless points. Who says braked rebound obviously says that the balls will come out much less. The smashers can come out frustrated because they did not take out a lot of balls on this ground, it is completely normal.

You will tell me that Lebron, Paquito, Galan take out the balls easily but unlike us, they play with new rackets and with the changing balls. This means that the balls are almost never worn out. The conditions are therefore not the same.

For the comfort of play we will agree that the sandless carpets are really very nice, but what about the game what do you think? What do you prefer?
