This weekend, the facilities of Real Padel Club by Mouratoglou Academy hosted the first edition of the Open EQUITIM Real Padel, a P250 category tournament for women and a P500 category for men.

Godard / Sorel: Back to the beautiful era!

In the women's group, after the group stage on Saturday, the semi-finals were between Celia Darcel and Emilie Guez against the favorites Line Meites and Laurène Berard: Victory of the last 6 / 4 6 / 1.

In the other part of the table we saw the best match of the weekend between Virginie Pironneau / Melissa Martin (The player of Real Padel Club) and the formidable French pair Sandy Godart / Geraldine Sorel.

Match won at “experience” by Sandy and “gégé” by saving 1 match points! A thunderous start to the game with Virginia and Melissa playing together for the first time, Melissa new player of padel played without pressure which surprised his opponents. After a fierce struggle Sandy and Gégé end up winning 3/6 6/2 7/6

So it's time for the final which pitted Sandy / Gégé against Line Meites / Laurène Berard: Superb exchanges, smashes from "Sandy" and defensive shots from Line always so unpredictable.

After a series of defeats in the finals lately, Sandy and Geraldine fought the spell by winning 6 / 4 7 / 6 after a very nice final.

Sparks in the men

On the men's side, the Mickael Kusaj / Gilles David semi-finals and the formidable pair composed of Vincent Versier / JM Pequery qualified for the semi-finals.

Mika and Gilles were opposed to the two players stamped Real Padel Club: Kevin Fouquet and Robin Haziza returned from Spain to participate in this tournament.

The step was too high for Kusaj / David to hope to worry the favorites of the tournament: loss in 2 sets 6/0 6/4.

On the other side Vincent Versier and JM Pequery led hard life to the pair Corbelli / Bensadoun, who after a real battle of the net ended up winning 6/4 7/6. High-level streaks at the net between his 4 negative former tennis players…. The experience of the Bensadoun / Corbelli pair made the difference.

“Kevin the builder, Robin the finisher”

The final expected was held this Sunday evening summer with an ideal temperature and 4 players ready to fight. The tactic of the pair Corbelli / Bensadoun was clear, playing 80% of the time on Kevin Fouquet.

But it was not counting on exceptional defenses of the right-wing player who displayed all his qualities (agility, speed and tactician end).

Robin Haziza left-handed player for the occasion perfectly fulfilled his role as finisher. Robin Haziza, a future player on the left?

Tactically and defensively above the Real players Padel Club have stifled their opponents. Despite some break points saved in the middle of the 2rd set, the Haziza / Fouquet pair easily wins 6 / 2 6 / 2.
