That was hot for the seeded 1 of theOpen 4Padel Bordeaux composed of Bastien Blanqué and Adrien Maigret. Indeed, the players of the France team had to fight to win after more an hour and a half.

Against the favorites of the tournament, the seeded 5 did not give up. Like their semi-final against the seeded 2 (Le Panse / Armagnac), François Authier and Pierre Vincent were valiant and particularly efficient, taking advantage at times of certain opposing largesse.

A stat that says it all

One statistic is terrible: 7 break points obtained in all 3 sets and 4 converted for Authier / Vincent, while for the Blanqué / Maigret pair, there are 24 break points obtained, for only 5 converted!

Against the run of play, it was François Authier and Pierre Vincent who managed to take the first set. After being led twice by a break, they were able to take advantage of a failed game from Bastien Blanqué to pocket the first set with a score of 7/5.

Blanqué and Maigret affected but not defeated

Somewhat physically affected, Pierre Vincent knew how to remain dangerous. François Auhtier, as usual, showed himself to be imperturbable and determined. So much so that we could see some annoyances from Adrien Maigret and Bastien Blanqué, the latter cursing more and more about his level of play.

But after exchanges of courtesies between the two pairs, it is indeed the Blanqué / Maigret pair who knew how to take the break at the best time.

And this time, almost miraculously, we saw them take this second set 6/3, when they seemed to be in trouble.

The 3rd set we were waiting for

The 3rd round was by far the most successful for the players of the French team who managed to raise their level of play and above all to gain in regularity against a very determined pair and who marked the match by their efficiency in the very important times.

The Bastien Blanqué show, well assisted by an Adrien Maigret who hurt in his parallel with Pierre Vincent, allowed the favorites to conclude with a shutout.

A great finale, suspense, we can't wait until next week for the first P2000 of the season!
