Marta Talavan, the 20th player of the World Padel Tour and member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Professional Players, confided in the program padel from MARCA on the circuit war between Premier Padel and World Padel Tour. She also mentions the differences that would exist between the association of female players and that of male players.

Lorena Rufo blocked by the WPT?

Marta Talavan has announced to team up 2023 with Lorena Rufo. Except that the 32nd player of the World Padel Tour does not have a contract with the circuit. A situation that could jeopardize things…

“We can't wait for all of this to be over (ed. the circuit war). For now, we don't really know what will happen. I have a contract with the WPT and I will play (…) but others don't, like my partner Lorena Rufo. Can I play with her?

The gentlemen with their decisions (to play Premier Padel) have conditioned us. And if Premier Padel don't give us the best terms, are we going to split the padel ? It is complicated…"

Difference in atmosphere between the Players' Association and the Players' Association?

We know it among gentlemen, we realize that opinions can differ. For the Spanish player, it feels like the direction taken by the Players Association is actually that of “some people".

“We (IPPA) are quite united, all opinions are taken into account. I don't think that's the case with the boys, I think (…) a few people made the decisions and maybe not everyone agreed."
