What a tournament! This weekend, we experienced the most popular tournament of the beginning of the year among men with in particular 2 of the 3 best French pairs, Bergeron / Blanqué the French champion of padel in title and the Parisian pair at the start of the season, Tison / Maigret.

The Sorel / Martin pair for the ladies and Tison / Maigret won a magnificent padel. But before returning to the finals, inventory of the players present.

Almost everyone at the rendezvous

This stage of the My Padel Tour to Casa Padel has perhaps never been so uplifted. Apart from the Haziza / Scatena pair, the big absent from this tournament and the Aix-en-Provence players Laurent Boulade and Jérôme Ferrandez, everyone was there ...

In addition to this bed of experienced players, 2 pairs could claim the final victory: The Franco-Argentine pair Panse / Ferreyra and the Spanish pair. Salines / De Benito.

Tison / Maigret disarms the competition

What to say… The Parisian pair of Bois d'Arcy / Mantes-le-Jolie was undoubtedly the strongest on the whole of the tournament in spite of a very high competition.

  • An expected semi-final

In the semi-finals, we finally had our long-awaited confrontation: Bastien / Blanqué against Tison / Maiget. An expected opposition, but also a style opposition between 2 pairs with different weapons.

The French champions of padel 2017 offered a very wide range of shots. Their experience acquired in Spain allows us to see shots that we do not necessarily see on the French circuit. Their defense is incredible and the pair are able to offer several game tactics by adapting to the opposing game.

The Parisian pair has above all a leitmotif: "Impose his game". If she nevertheless has several options in her game, her strong point is the attack and she knows it. Haro on attack, blocks, and volley.

This difference in the game between these two pairs allowed us to see some very big show. But to see also that the power Maigret / Tison could bring down the pair Blanqué / Bergeron.

Because in this match, she was the one who led her boat from start to finish. After a wait-and-see departure from the two pairs, the show took place.

In this particularly close match, note that Johan Bergeron has had all the trouble in the world to counter Benjamin Tison in his diagonal, embarrassed in particular by the repeated grids of the Parisian.

The ardor of the Parisian attacking pair have sometimes been pushed back by Blanqué / Bergeron including obliging Adrien Maigret to slow his game and vary to avoid being countered in his smash.

Victory in 2 sets very hung: 7 / 6 7 / 5.

  • A final at a wire

A thread, because the match could have tournament in the middle of the second set when Adrien Maigret finds himself stuck in cramps…

In the final, we found logically the French-Argentine pair Panse / Ferreyra who won his semifinal in pain in 3 sets against the warriors Morgan Mannarino and Mathieu Lapouge.

There too, a very hooked finish. In the first set, Loïc Le Panse certainly made his best set of the tournament. Very aggressive, very tactically correct, Benjamin Tison does not find the solution in his diagonal. Panse / Ferreyra will lead 5/2 in the first set. But it is Adrien Maigret who will find the flaw against all odds against Femin Ferreyra (Top 130 worldwide). The Parisian pair will put a total of 6 games in a row. It will take a set to the Argentinian, to get totally into the juice and deliver a magnificent performance thereafter. The French pair wins 7/5.

In the second set, the roles are reversed for the Franco-Argentinian pair. Ferreyra really starts his match by showing that he is certainly the best player in the competition. The former world top 100, achieves incredible blows by succeeding in particular to pierce the wall Tison / Maigret, the only one to have succeeded in doing so in the competition. On the other hand, it is Loïc Le Panse who after having carried out and carried the first set which tires in the second set. He too will end the match cramped.

Final victory of Maigret / Tison: 7 / 5 7 / 6.

Little regret for the pair Le Panse / Ferreyra who did not manage to play well at the same time.

Sorel / Martin fulfills the mission

The southern pair Sorel / Martin easily won a tournament where she was the big favorite of the event. She does not lose any set, and manages to win this P500 without having lost more than 3 games in each match.

Note the very promising beginnings of tennis player Magalie Girard who played her first games of padel and who manages to reach the final of a P500 for his first tournament. She was playing alongside one of the best players in padel in France Line Meites.

In the semi-finals, the Meites / Girard pair made a very beautiful semi-final by going so far as to save 1 match point against the pair Blankson / Mayorga.
