If for the moment everything is going well for the gentlemen, the same cannot be said for the ladies. Beaten 2-1 yesterday by Sweden, the French women will not have had the expected debut.

But nothing is lost because they will try to raise the bar this afternoon, from 16:00 p.m. French time against Brazil.

A formidable Brazilian team

The French can still qualify and can even dream of taking first place in the pool. But for that, we will first have to win today against the Brazilians. The latter easily won against Paraguay earlier in the day.

Led by Raquel Piltcher (58th WPT) and Manuela Shuck Silva (92nd WPT – 10th APT), the Seleçao players finished 5th last year. It is therefore a big shock that is announced against the Blue, who had finished just one place ahead in Qatar.

Which composition to align?

This will surely be the headache for the captain of Les Bleues, Robin Haziza, who will have to choose which players to line up this afternoon to counter this solid yellow and green team.

During the game against Paraguay, the two best players Raquel Piltcher and Manuela Shuck were associated in team 1. As we could imagine, they did not make a detail against Acuna / Stagni: 6/2 6/1.

Under these conditions, what strategy should be adopted? Should we try to align the best French players against the weakest Brazilians to try to ensure victory even if it means losing a match? Is it better to continue to mix the teams like against Sweden and hope for a 3/0 victory? Or simply send Léa Godallier and Alix Collombon in 1 against Piltcher / Schuck and hope that the other tricolors do the job against the weaker pairs? Many questions must be running through the head of the coach, especially since it is not guaranteed that Brazil will redo the same composition as against Paraguay…

We will see from 19 p.m. local time (00 p.m. in France) which strategy has been chosen. The meeting will be to follow just below:
