The President of the Spanish Federation of padel, Ramon morcillo, gives an interview to our colleagues from Padel Spain. The situation on his non-resignation is clarified.

A sudden turnaround

Last June, the appearance of the hidden and modified agreement concluded by Morcillo with the Catalan Federation of Padel (FCP) had caused his premature resignation from the FEP. The president finally reversed his decision and decided to stay.

“It seemed like the best thing to do was when I left in July, but then a series of events happened that made it clear to many, if not all of us, that the best thing to do was for me to continue. and that elections are then organized”, he commented on his change of position regarding his resignation at the head of the EFF.

Divergent interests

We recall that the 2022 Spanish Championships have been postponed to January 2023. Premier Padel used the date blocked by the FEP to organize another tournament, making it impossible for the superstars to attend the Spanish Championships.

Regarding relations with the various territorial federations, the president admitted that they ''are cordial and good, because personal matters should not be mixed with institutional matters”.
