Le P2000 of Toulouse Padel Club still has a chance to take place. The organizers cling to this hope, even if the ball is in the camps of the prefecture.

The organizers are doing the max

Can the FFT do otherwise than wait? Toulouse Padel Club, can he do otherwise? Unfortunately the health crisis is beyond everyone. And everyone goes through it. The FFT seems to follow an option that seems logical to us and that we talked about earlier.

Stéphane Berrafato, the manager padel from the FFT reported to the players about the very uncomfortable situation we are in:

Hi,

As you know, the city of Toulouse has moved into a heightened alert zone.

The Minister of Solidarity and Health announced yesterday that the detailed implementation measures of the protocol to fight the Covid 19 epidemic would be communicated within 48 hours after consultation with the local authorities.

At present we do not know the outcome of the consultations which are in progress. We have no ban this evening from the local authorities to organize the P2000. It is, to date, maintained. However, it could be canceled depending on regional or national announcements that may occur in the coming days.

Aware of this uncertain situation that we are temporarily confronted with, we could easily understand that some of you cancel your participation in this tournament. If so, please let us know as soon as possible.

The Federation, in charge, will apply all the measures as soon as it becomes aware of them while respecting the implementation dates.

We wanted to share with you the very specific circumstances in which the qualification phase of our tournament will begin tomorrow to allow you to make the personal decisions that belong to you with full knowledge of the information available to date.

Counting on your understanding and on everyone's adaptation to this exceptional situation.

A very clear and transparent email which shows how the event actually depends on only one body: the prefecture.

Our opinion :

It will be very complicated for the prefecture to order the closure of indoor sports centers, restaurants, cultural and sporting events from Saturday. The pressure is very important there, the measure could even seem unfair in view of the conditions already taken by the government to limit the number of people.

The economic health of companies and therefore thousands of people are at stake. Wouldn't it be too brutal to ban all events scheduled for this weekend the day before? economic players are at their wit's end. Would the medical risk via the consequences of a ban on Saturday not be greater than the risk of COVID-19?

If the prefecture took the voice of extreme severity on its decision to suspend / cancel everything on Saturday, it would be a very hard blow to accept.

It is hard to believe it, especially since it seems that the closure of padel are inevitable. Let them have this opportunity to have the best possible weekend before reliving the perverse effects of confinement for at least 2 weeks.
