Alain Montoya is passionate about padel from the first hour. He believes that the PADEL 1 ON 1 must be set up as quickly as possible “to revive life in the clubs of padel“. He launched a petition followed by more than 700 people.

A petition that allows us in passing to immerse ourselves in the history of our sport.

Convince to do at least like the others

I want to convince of the need for players to padel to come back to train one on one on their courts.

I'm an old gamer padel, I started in 1994 with a short discovery in the Hauts-de-Seine including the Federation of padel at the time, rue de la Pomme in Toulouse did not know of its existence. It had been built by the mayor of the town following a trip to Argentina and the house of this gentleman then bequeathed to the town in which I was working at that time in leisure and youth.

At the time already some international tennis players started to taste this singular sport with bizarre rackets, in hard plastic and with holes.

A fan of padel which is part of history

I played at padel anecdotally for almost 20 years, I had the chance to travel a lot because it was my job and I played only abroad, South America and Spain, the only courts in France being counted on the fingers of both hands .

Even though I was an avid practitioner of squash and American racquetball I already knew that the padel was made for me being neither very technical nor very physical, it allowed me to take pleasure every time.

Today and for several years I play every week and often several times when it is not two games in a row, and I no longer play squash…

Misunderstanding

I follow with interest the rules allowing athletes of all stripes to regain their practice and I do not understand why it is not possible to apply to padel the rules of tennis.

The courts are outdoors and although we are a two-player I can assure anyone that most of the padel whom I meet would be happy to be able to replay.

And I rub shoulders with a lot of players who have volunteered for several years in my Winwin club padel in Cabriès.

The petition

I am writing this article and I have put a petition online, signed and shared many times by over 700 people in a few days, it is not possible that we can deprive them padelbones of resuming their sport for no real reason.

Trust the players of padel is a good thing, it is the only team sport where you play two, and where all the shots played have a direct impact on the course of the match and on your partner.

You have to understand that the players of padel, they are not children, they are not sportsmen like the others and they are passionate and aficionados, I am convinced that they will respect all the protocols to resume their racket.

We look forward to being trusted and for the clubs in France to return to their activity.
