On the occasion of the Pro Padel League which will begin on May 13, the Miami Padel Club achieves an excellent signing in the person of Marta Marrero.

The Spaniard, world number 1 in 2016 and 2019, and who has decided to take a break this year on the professional scene, will take part in this new team competition in the Florida franchise alongside Ruben Rivera, Anna Cortiles and Sergio Icardo, under the leadership of Juan Martin Del Potro.

"I'm thrilled to have chosen Miami as my next step to take my career to new heights, as the city is a great hub for developing the padel, says Marrero. The Miami Padel Club has an ambitious sports plan to excel in the PPL scene and gives me the opportunity to serve as a role model for more women and girls to play and practice this sport."

At 39, the Canarian with 25 professional titles in padel embarks on this new adventure on the other side of the Atlantic to the delight of Davis Jamieson, general manager of the Miami Padel Club: “Marta's appearance demonstrates the confidence of global players in our vision to be the best in PPL and their commitment to representing our community."

The inaugural season of the Pro Padel League kicks off in Tampa on May 13 with seven teams and ends June 10-11 with the PPL CUP to determine the league champion.
