It was the big fear for the two selections, and the draw did his thing. The two favorite nations to qualify for the World Cup will have to face each other in the groups on the men's side, with only one remaining in Dubai.

Two nations for one place

The qualifications of the Worlds of padel, which take place in Derby (United Kingdom) from September 30 to October 2, will allow 3 men's teams to validate their ticket for Dubai.

The teams will first have to get out of the groups of 3, to then win their quarter, and their semi-final against another group leader. An additional opportunity will be offered to the losers of the semi-finals, with a small final which will be worth gold.

Note that the nations from groups A and B will be exempted from the quarter-finals, and will qualify directly for the semi-finals.

However, we will not have Sweden and Portugal together in this last four. Indeed, the two favorite nations were not seeded because neither of them participated in the World Cup last year. And luck of the draw, they end up in the same group.

One of them will therefore not travel to Dubai…

Here are the 18 nations placed in the 6 groups. Monaco accompanies Sweden and Portugal in this group of death.

A more balanced draw for ladies

As far as the women's selections are concerned, this European qualifying phase for the Worlds will only distribute two tickets for Dubai.

Sweden, led by Carolina Navarro, will be the favorite nation of Group C, from which it should come out without trembling.

The Portuguese superteam are also favorites in their group (A).

It is normally without too much trouble that these two nations will reach the last four, and the good news is that they do not have the possibility of facing each other. Indeed, the first half will oppose the leaders of group A and group D, while the winners of groups B and C will compete for a qualification for the World Cup!

It's hard to think that Sweden and Portugal will not be the two teams qualified for the World Cup, but everything remains to be done!
