This is the question we ask ourselves in the middle of the World Padel Tour. A season which reaches its equator and which promises a frenetic finale. Changes in partners, injuries, loss of performance, young promises that jostle the "old", nothing goes. And it is for our greatest pleasure. So who will be number 1?

Next meeting of the WPT, the August 06 in Mijas, Andalusia. It seems that 3 pairs could claim the throne by December, the end of the season. Maxi Sanchez and Sanyo Gutiérrez, Paquito Navarro and Juan Lebron and finally Ale Galan and Pablo Lima.

Currently the number 1 in the standings are Maxi and Sanyo, but the last tournaments were not the best for them. A loss of confidence, a need to win, regain a good momentum to avoid being overtaken by other pairs.

Just behind and at just 3000 points, the Spanish pair 100% who would dream of being the first Spanish number 1 ever known, Paquito and Lebron. A flawless start to the season with a game different from what we used to see. Players able to play right and left to disrupt the opponents, two very hard hitters, hard to play. These two champions have already 4 titles in hand since January, we will see if the second half of the season after this summer break, will remain on the same line.

Finally, Ale Galan and Pablo Lima showed very quickly that they will be present at the next tournaments and that it will be necessary to count on them and their determination. A first victory right after their union, a great demonstration of effort and courage, this break will be the perfect moment for Ale and Pablo to agree on the field and impose their game on the tournaments to come.

Although we have detached these 3 pairs for the 1 number, let's not forget all these other talented pairs that will put a spoke in the wheel and make it even more difficult to access the crown. Stupa and Mati Diaz, Tello-Chingotto, Mieres-Lamperti, Silingo-Allemandi or the highly anticipated Bela-Tapia. To be continued…
