Great champions during the three events of the South American tour, Gemma Triay and Alejandra Salazar returned to the microphone of our colleagues from Sports world on hot topics of the moment, such as the participation of players on the circuit Premier Padel.

“In all three countries it was extraordinary”

A few days ago the cream of the padel world met in Latin lands for a daunting tour in three countries: Argentina, Chile and Paraguay.

A first of sorts for the ladies. The emotion of treading the slopes in front of a more than unleashed public was obviously present.

Salazar "In Argentina it was fire! We were able to feel the warmth of the public and the atmosphere that emanated from the stands. It was just extraordinary in the three countries".

Triay "Personally, the nation that surprised me the most was Chile, because when we left to train on the first day, I was impressed by the number of people who came to see us. Looked like we were Hollywood stars".

This season got off to a flying start for the two Spaniards who already have three titles (La Rioja – Argentina, Chile and Paraguay) and two finals (Abu Dhabi and Reus).

“Our priority will be Premier Padel"

This is the great news of this start to the season for the ladies, their participation in Premier Padel.

As we told you a few days ago, the players will join the ranks of the Qatari circuit and thus join the men. The number 1s have been questioned on this subject, and they are obviously delighted to be able to land on the official circuit of the FIP.

Salazar " The negotiation process was long and complicated and each of us has our own opinion on the subject […]. At this time, we still do not know if the WPT will be acquired by Premier Padel but the important thing is that the situation is resolved".

Triay " We still do not know at the moment if we will play all the tournaments of Premier Padel. We will be in Rome, sure, and our goal is to participate in all PP competitions. But the circuit must speak with the promoters. The priority for us will be to play all the Premier Padel and if we had to make a choice, we will choose the Qatari circuit because it is likely to absorb WPT".
