Jérémy Scatena settled in the top 100 international ranking with good results on Premier Padel and the FIP. Since Dubai World Cup, the French announces many exclusives to Padel Magazine.

"Sure Premier Padel I feel good, not like in France…”

Lorenzo Lecci Lopez: We are in Dubai. It's a new World Cup for you. We feel a fervor padel here.

Jérémy Scatena: “Yes, I started in 2008 in Canada. That's a lot of Worlds, and I think I'm more at the end than at the beginning of my professional career. I try to make the most of it.”

“Here the padel is much more developed than in Qatar, and seeing this public, it animates me. I would say that in Dubai there are as many clubs as in Barcelona.”

Lorenzo Lecci Lopez: We see you in great shape on the circuit Premier Padel. Why do you play so well on this circuit?

Jérémy Scatena: “I'm not going to lie to you. On Premier Padel, I feel good. Argentinians, Spaniards, or Italians ask me about me, I get on very well with them. It's as if I found my family, and I'm happy. Then in France, I don't feel well, the people aren't nice, and that doesn't make me want to go back and make the effort. In Gran Canaria, for example, there were 400 people in the stands cheering me on and chanting my name.

“I will get involved politically”

Lorenzo Lecci Lopez: Have you given up on the APT? Padel Tower ?

Jérémy Scatena: “Yes completely. I think the future of padel is with Premier Padel and the FIP. For the moment, there is still a bit of war, but we see in the speech of Premier Padel and PPA that the door is open for the WPT to organize stages of the main circuit, while the reverse is not true. This is why the future of padel is in Premier, and I'm 100% convinced that it's a good thing for the padel. "

“I'm going to get involved politically to get things back on track. The circuit was launched very quickly and there are things that are not right.

Lorenzo Lecci Lopez: Get involved politically? Do you want to enter the PPA?

Jérémy Scatena: "Yes ! That's it, I applied and I think it will do. It will represent players from 60 to 70, and all French players. This will allow me to have some answers, and also to know what will happen.

"Not everything is transparent, but we know things. For example, the contract of Premier Padel, you can't broadcast it publicly so that the WPT doesn't pick it up. We have to explain this kind of thing, because then the players think that we are hiding something, but in fact, all the players can look at the contract from the computer of the lawyer of the PPA, and we can consult it with his own lawyer. Everything can be read, everything is visible.”

Four men for two places

Lorenzo Lecci Lopez: So I'm going to ask a question to the politician you have become! What do you think of having to play two games on the same day because there is a group of 5?

Jérémy Scatena:“In terms of sporting fairness, both teams will also play in the morning. That is to say that Paraguay, like us France, will have another confrontation in the morning before facing us. It's already done well. Then, we are lucky to have 8 competitive players, so we manage to pay attention to everyone. The game against Paraguay will be the big game for us.”

Lorenzo Lecci Lopez: Have you decided together who will play against Qatar?

Jérémy Scatena: “You should know that in the mind of the coach, there are four indestructible players who are Tison, Bergeron, Blanqué and Leygue. Then we are four for two places. I hope I will be on the score sheet!”
