The Loges St Germain Tennis Club , it’s a team of “old veterans“, capable of remaining in Nationale 1 amidst the armadas of other clubs. During the last Interclubs, this team with a very united spirit, managed to keep its place by finishing 12è of the competition.
During the event, Sébastien Gay , co-captain of the team, alongside Frédéric apple , looked back on the history of this team, but also on its perseverance during the Interclubs.
Containment, a rallying point
For Saint-Germain, it all started during confinement. The old hands that we are Baptiste Grodenic, Frederic Rondeau, Florent Thevenot and myself, we couldn't do without padel. We've never seen each other as much as during confinement.
During this period, we managed to play on the right and on the left. It allowed us to strengthen our ties. From that moment on, the desire to play as a team was born. At the same time, we met our little ones, Alexandre Fantou and Guilhem Deverre .
Tennis Club des Loges: an obvious choice
Saint Germain, with its family spirit , it's our favorite club, it seemed quite natural to us to defend its colors.

A cohesive team
We won Regional 1, 3-0 in the final, against Padel Horizon 2. They were found when of the French N2 Championships in the Eastern Conference , and we won again 3-0. It's a Parisian story. You just have to see the atmosphere there was during the N1 interclubs. Long live Paris.
Frédéric apple , quite naturally, has become, over the years, the official partner of Baptiste Grodenic . He came to enrich our ranks. Fred, we don't need to introduce him anymore. TFP trainer, former partner of Ben Tison, former French number 19. The experience, the cleverness, the profession, the sympathy, the humor, it corresponded well to the values of our team.
Maintaining courage
We managed to maintain ourselves , as best I can, still facing Padel Horizon 2. Clearly, we meet up all the time. 2-1 victory this time. We are still in N1, and I think we are going to have to really pull away in February because the level will go up a notch with the big clubs coming up, the Spaniards arriving, etc.
We believe in our chances . We're going to practice a lot between now and then. We have a little time to prepare for the event. There will therefore be two teams from Paris. Padel Horizon 1, the real team of professionals, and then us, Tom Thumb , with supporters, with the whole family, with the Saint Germain club, banners, cheerleaders!
It's going to be amazing Padel Horizon, we're going to set it on fire.
It was her brother who one day told her to accompany him to a padel court, since then, Gwenaëlle has never left the court. Except when it comes to going to watch the retransmission of Padel Magazine, World Padel Tour… or Premier Padel…or the French Championships. In short, she is a fan of this sport.
