Good news at the beginning of the year: We have found traces of the former manager of Soccer Park Strasbourg: Franck Rolling. Now associated with the “Foot et padel” complex (formerly Evadsports) in Strasbourg, Franck looks back on his career and his new football club with, of course, padel!
Padel Magazine - How did you get started on this adventure in Strasbourg?
Franck Rolling – My background is above all sporting, 14 years as a professional footballer and then a reconversion in several fields of activity not directly linked to football, to return to sport anyway, more precisely in 5-a-side football and especially in padel for 3 years now.
3 years ago, we opened a center in Strasbourg with 2 indoor courts, the market being completely virgin, no one knew about padel.
The demand is important and it was obvious to bring on Strasbourg a new offer and especially another service
Since when does the club exist?
Padel & Foot exists since November 2017, we bought Evadsports which is historically the first 5-a-side football center in Alsace (2007).
Can you describe to us the infrastructures of the club and its ambitions?
We have of course kept the 5-a-side football with 2 courts, and installed 3 padel courts because the center has a height of more than 9 meters, ideal for playing padel. The big plus of our center is the panoramic tapas bar.
Our padel offer is wide with fun tournaments like that of St Patrick on March 17 in a kilt but also approved tournaments like the P250 on March 24 and 25 (Open Padel Head) then the P1000 Head Open end of April (regional final).
And regarding the padel courses, we have an Argentinian coach who ensures the quality of the lessons for young and old. Clinic and demo days are on the program as well as opportunities to test different brands of rackets.
