A big weekend of padel is announced for the end of this week in the south of Alsace. On the side of the Swiss border, the latest of the three 4Padel which exist in Alsace is gaining momentum and organizing more and more tournaments.

Friday, December 2, hostilities will begin with a P250 on the three indoor pitches of 4Padel of Saint-Louis, located on the border with Basel. The tournament will end Saturday at midday and will qualify the two finalist pairs for a P500 which begins Saturday, December 3 in the afternoon.

For the latter, a Strasbourg pair will be seeded 1: Thiphaine Holderbach (138th French) and Anthony Kohlmann (140th). But they will have to be wary of the TdS2, formed by Christophe Henry (46th) and Albano Olivetti (assimilated 300th). From the height of his 2,03 m, the latter is also the current 66th best tennis player in the world in doubles, according to the latest ATP ranking. Suffice to say that the overpowered smashes will vibrate the windows and the faithful public of the place.

The hierarchy could, however, be shaken up by a pair who came next to Mulhouse: Diego Garcia (224th) and Teri Groll (155th), who appeared not so long ago in the French top 50 but have played little in recent months. For the record, in 2021, Teri Groll, associated with Christophe Henry, had been champion of the Grand Est and above all quarter-finalist of the French championships, after a memorable “perf” in 1/8th!

A recent P250 organized in Saint Louis

Finally, football and Olympique Lyonnais fans who won't be in front of a television set will be delighted: the TdS 4 is made up of ex-professional footballer Steed Malbranque, passionate of padel and now 231st French player. He will be associated with Alexandre Charles (175th).

Suffice to say that there will be some good games to follow on the side of Saint-Louis, in particular from the quarter-finals, Sunday December 4 at the end of the morning.
