On the professional circuit of World Padel Tour the first part of the season went by with a few changes of pairs but for the most part each team tried to work together and stay together in the losses. But the second part of the season may be very different ...

The top players are fighting for the Final Master of Barcelona:

In December, the Final Master will take place in Barcelona which will bring together the 8 best teams. For most players the goal is clear: to hold out until the end of the season no matter what to participate in the Master. For the moment only Fernando Belasteguin and Pablo Lima have separated, for the rest of the teams no imminent changes but who knows, in the padel everything can happen. All these changes are obviously made behind the scenes with as little noise as possible because a lot of things are at stake and especially the contracts of each one with their respective sponsors.

The final table is a priority for all players:

Apart from the first world teams, all the following players fight in each tournament to stay in the table and not go down in the previas (qualifications) of the World Padel Tour. The reason is simple: by going back down in the previas, the players see themselves playing 2 or 3 more games, therefore more fatigue. The points gained for their classification would be much harder to add up due to the big fight offered by the WPT tournaments, and especially in financial terms it would be a great loss. The players start to receive a “prize money” in the last round of qualifying which remains very light and really incomparable compared to the final table. A draw player also has a lot more tournament help if he participates directly in the final draw eg hotel paid.

For all these reasons, players are always looking for a new player on the board or better ranked to stay in the final draw. You also need to know that each player of the top 100 receives a sum according to his classification. The financial aid obviously depends on a grid of the world ranking.

New pairs from the next Madrid Master:

Many new pairs will appear from the Madrid Master Tournament. As usual, the changes will be between players in the main draw to try to make a better second half of the season. Some will win and others will surely lose but this may offer us new surprises.

We will follow it very closely and look forward to the painting being revealed to us.
