Victoria Iglesias and Alix Collombon made a successful entry into the running in Toulouse for the Human Padel Open. After beating the Spanish pair Perez/Ruiz 7/5 6/2, the sequel was less happy. The two players spoke about their recent association at the microphone of Padel Magazine.

Padel Magazine : What were your feelings during this meeting?

Victoria Iglesias: “In the first set, we complicated our lives and we were a bit lucky. But we still played well at a high level. We started from the bottom and ended up at the top. We are very happy because we passed this lap, and that is the most important thing. We will see how it goes tomorrow.”

PM: Did you feel a little nervous?

Victoria: "Nervous, no, maybe my partner a little more because she plays here on her land."

Alix Collombon: “A little bit, but not too much either. Less than last year already.”

PM: What was the key to this meeting? You have chained 9 games won consecutively.

Victoria: “To be honest, we went all out because our opponents imposed a more sustained pace, faster than us. Mentally, we didn't give up, we kept fighting and it paid off because we won the game. I think it was played in the head. We kept fighting, we didn't give up.

PM: What do you need to improve for tomorrow?

Victoria: “I think we got into the game well. But they entered the game very well, they were a little lucky and well, that's also sport.

PM: Do you feel there is a connection between you two?

Victoria: “Yes, we get along very well both on and off the track. Its very important. I am very happy and we will see tomorrow how it goes for us.”

PM: “Victoria, do you feel pressure to play in front of Alix's audience?”

Victoria: On the contrary, it looked like we were at a basketball event. Everyone encourages us, applauds us, we feel that the public is with us and that's really cool (laughs). I think Alix likes it too because I saw her raise her hands when we scored a point and that, I think she loves it.

Alix: Yes, yes, I confirm, I love it (laughs).
