After a complicated 2022 season, Wendy Barsotti, the former member of the France team, wants to taste the International Championships again...The French number 5, who will now team up with Élodie Invernon tells us about his ambitions.

There was disappointment, but today I trust myself again

It was already a lot of mental work to make it clear to me that I was suffering from a serious injury, especially after a very complicated season to manage. Once the disappointment and sadness passed, I took charge and took this injury as a message: I had to draw a line for good on this season and move forward with this project in Barcelona.

I did extensive exams to assess the seriousness and then took into account the medical directives to remuscle my shoulder thoroughly to avoid any relapse. 

Today I no longer have any apprehension, I have regained confidence in my body and I am ready to play again as before. 

A high pace of work

I have been in Spain since September so I had a very serious pre-season in Barcelona with my mental trainer Jean-Michel Pequery, my physical trainer Mariano Poda and my padel Xavi Figols and Nico Gavino. 

I imposed a big rhythm on myself with physical and padel every day. I give myself all the means possible to get there, I am impatient to find the adrenaline of competition as soon as possible. 

The pre-season was intense but great, I feel very good physically, and my life in Barcelona does me a lot of good. 

I'm lucky to share it with my roommates, we help each other a lot and we share our experiences, our training and that motivates me even more to perform again.

With Elodie, common ambitions

I will play with Élodie who also recently arrived in Barcelona. We will start with the P2000 of Bordeaux then after we want to evolve on A1 Padel and to start the FIPs too. 

Besides, just after the P2000, we will continue with two A1 tournaments Padel : Seville and Monaco. 

Now I'm really focused on what's happening. I already want to find the taste of competition as well as the rhythm, already see the benefits of my training in Barcelona and I will see what happens.

I always have in mind the desire to relive an international experience!
