This Thursday morning was disputed in the central market of Amsterdam the first match of the 1/8th finals between the pair number 3 in the world Bea Gonzalez/Marta Ortega and the Franco-Spanish duo Jessica Castello/Alix Collombon.

Motivated and determined, Alix and Jess got the match off to a flying start, making their opponents doubt. However, despite a flying start, the Lyonnaise and her partner were unable to maintain their advantage against the Spaniards.

Alix Collombon and Jessica Castello failed to beat the odds in Amsterdam

The Madrilenian and her partner managed to pick up the score and regain the advantage by winning the first round. In the second set, the pair Castello / Collombon went back to war with the very clear objective of turning the tide and getting back into the game. Nevertheless the numbers 3 managed to exploit the flaws of their rivals and win the match after more than an hour and a half of play.

Final score: 6/4 – 6/4.

Beatriz González and Marta Ortega therefore qualify for the quarter-finals which will be held this Friday and will face the winners of the match between Delfi Brea/Teresa Navarro and Aranzazu Osoro/Victoria Iglesias.

Recall that these 1/8th finals can be followed live on World Padel Tour TV.
