Fourth consecutive stage of World Padel Tour in September, the Amsterdam Open will take place from September 25 to October 2.

After Cascais (Portugal), Stockholm (Sweden) and Madrid (Spain), the stars of padel worldwide continue their tour of Europe with this Dutch Open.

Desire for revenge for Sanyo / Tapia

Among the men, Agustin Tapia and Sanyo Gutierrez will be, as in Madrid, seeded n°2. They will be keen to make people forget their bitter defeat in 1/16th finals in the Spanish capital. But be careful, because they could find their executioners from Madrid, Moyano and Gil, in the quarter-finals, if the latter still manage to create a surprise, against Ale Ruiz and Momo Gonzalez.

Seeded 3, Paquito Navarro and Martin Di Nenno could cross paths with Coello and Belasteguin in the quarter. The latter will however have to thwart the trap that their tender Garrido and Campagnolo (or Ruiz and Bergamini) will try in 1/8th.

At the top of the table, the 1/16th finals promise immediately explosive encounters between, on the one hand Yanguas / Nieto and Chingotto / Tello, and on the other Sanchez / Capra and Sanz / Lamperti. The seeds 1 (Galan / Lebron) and 4 (Stupa / Lima) will have a priori more open tables until the quarter.

Salazar / Triay: stop the bleeding

Among the ladies, the world n ° 1 Salazar / Triay, after two heavy defeats in the final in Stockholm and especially in 1/8th in Madrid, will aim to stop the bleeding. They could also face Talavan and Araujo again as soon as they enter the competition, in 1/8th in Amsterdam. The winning pair would then potentially find the 5 seed, Riera / Llaguno, in the quarter.

Josemaria Sanchez Stockholm WPT 2022
Paula Josemaria and Ariana Sanchez will aim for a new title in Amsterdam

Seeded 2 Ariana Sanchez and Paula Josemaria are set to cross paths with Las Heras/Virseda in the quarter-finals, before a possible semi-final against Sainz and Marrero. At least if the hierarchy is respected, which has not always been the case in recent tournaments!

Still two French and two French in the running

On the French side, the draw reserved a funny surprise for Léa Godallier and Teresa Navarro: indeed, the usual “compi” will not be associated, but adversaries. The French, who will play again for the first time with her former partner Ariadna Cañellas, will face a big challenge since it is the thirteenth player in the world, Delfi Brea, who will be in her diagonal. Absent in Madrid, Argentina returns to competition, alongside Navarro, who replaces Tamara Icardo, always hampered by health problems.

Alix Collombon and Jessica Castello will be favorites for their 1/16th round against Anna Cortiles (36th) and Sandra Bellver (38th). In case of victory, the Franco-Spanish pair would face in 1/8th Marta Ortega and Bea Gonzalez, TdS 4

On the men's side, the Frenchman Benjamin Tison and his partner Martín Sánchez Piñeiro will want to do better than their promising 1/16th narrowly lost against Lamperti / Sanz in Madrid. In Amsterdam, to get out of qualifying, they will have to successively beat Jaime Muñoz and Ignacio Vilariño, then Javi Valdez and Rafa Mendez, TdS 6 of the previas, before a possible complicated last round against Rubio / Benitez, the TdS 2.

The first Frenchman in the running at the start of the tournament, Thomas Leygue (152nd) will this time be associated with Jose Pedro Montalban (203rd), during a first round of the pre-previas which seems more than playable against the Germans Daniel Lingen (851st) and Vincent Julich (852nd).
