Let's go for the quarter-finals this Friday at World Padel Tour Amsterdam Open, and the least we can say is that there are several pairs who were not really expected at this stage of the competition.

Four unseeded pairs in the men's quarters!

Among the men, we of course think first of the qualified Javi Valdes and Joseda Sanchez, who took full advantage of the Bela / Yanguas package in their part of the table. Gonzalo Rubio and Alex Arroyo, after created a sensation against Coello / Tapia in the first round, confirmed last night by emerging victorious from a very big fight against “Chipi” Muñoz and Jairo Bautista. Two other pairs not among the seeded teams enter the quarters: Gutiérrez / Gutiérrez and Belluati / Ruiz.

For the rest, it's classic, since we find the heads of seeds 2, 3, 4 and 5, namely Stupa / Di Nenno, Lebron / Galan, Navarro / Chingotto, and Ruiz / Tello. Will the outsiders be able to shake these four duos this Friday?

Among the girls, the big names don't tremble

On the women's side, we see that the hierarchy is more respected, with pairs number 1, 2, 3 and 4 who have still not lost a set since the start of the tournament. Following the defeat of Mapi and Majo Alayeto in the first round, an unseeded duo enters the quarter-finals.

And it's not Ksenia Sharifova and Marta Borrero, the twins' favorites, but Marina Guinart and Carolina Navarro who knew how to seize the opportunity. The 47-year-old will also play her very first quarter of the season this Friday!

For the rest it's classic with the 5, 6 and 8 seeds who suffered, but ended up doing the job!
