The semi-finalists of the Paris Major did not come far from elimination this Tuesday morning at World Padel Tour Madrid Masters.

Au padel, you can be full of confidence during one tournament and have great difficulties during the next. Aranzazu Osoro and Jessica Castello showed it to us today at Caja Magica.

Those who came out of a “Roland-Garros padel” particularly successful were almost knocked out as soon as they entered the fray in Madrid against a Nuria Rodriguez and a Marta Talavan who were particularly inspired at the start of the match. Dominant, the Spaniards managed to obtain a set point at 5/2, saved by their opponents, who then chained five consecutive games to take the set.

Not defeated, Nuria and Marta returned to action, inflicting a 6/1 on the Spanish-Argentinian pair. We felt the surprise coming but Aranzazu and Jessica, who won four points less than their opponents in the match, were able to tighten the game in a dangerous end to the third set.

They won 7/5 1/6 6/4 in a big fight which lasted 2h42 and qualified for the eighth, where they will meet the young Alonso and Ustero, who delivered a recital against Carnicero/Merino: 6/ 3 6/3.

Now for the second match of the day on WPT-TV : Collombon/Rufo vs Ortega/Triay!
