Thanks to their convincing success against Lucia Martinez and Esther Carnicero in World Padel Tour Menorca Open, Alix Collombon and Jessica Castello will play their fourth quarter-final of the season tomorrow in a WPT Open. A performance after which they had been chasing for more than five months!

What a demonstration! In this match which pitted them against the first round upset, Alix and Jessica delivered a high-level performance to leave with a victory in straight sets: 6/2 6/3.

Faced with a pair that had given a lot yesterday, the Frenchwoman and her teammate imposed their entry pace to win the first round with authority. The start of the second set was to the advantage of Martinez and Carnicero but Castello and Collombon quickly resumed their march forward to win in less than an hour and a half of play.

As you can see in the stats, this clear victory should allow the Franco-Spanish pair to arrive in great shape tomorrow morning in the Balearic Islands. A lesser evil when you know that it is the numbers 1 Paula Josemaria and Ariana Sanchez who will present themselves to her!

Note that Alix and Léa Godallier, who were supposed to start tomorrow at the French Championships, will probably start on Saturday in the event of a defeat in the quarter of the Castello/Collombon pair. If successful, however, this will mean a withdrawal from the 2021 French Champions…
