This Sunday noon stood the big WPT Santander Open final between Fernando Belasteguin – Arturo Coello and Martin Di Nenno – Paquito Navarro.

We were expecting a big match between the fittest pair of the padel world and two players who have been walking on water since they formalized their separation.

Paquito and Di Nenno start strong

For this last dance, the Sevillian and his Argentinian teammate set the pace throughout the first round, leaving very few opportunities for Bela and Coello.

The two men, who seem totally liberated, did not flinch and as in the semi-final against Sanyo and Tapia, took control of the match very quickly by dominating their rivals.

In less than 45 minutes, Martin and Paquito won the first set with a score of 6/2.

Paquito Navarro and Martin Di Nenno

A perfect melody

The second round started as the beginning of the meeting.

Trailing 3/0, Coello and Bela did not intend to let go, but after a game in which the two pairs went blow for blow, they had to decide in a very important “punto de oro” for the rest of the match. . Indeed, while Fernando and Arturo finally seemed to get into the game, their opponents dealt them a fatal blow.

This Sunday, nothing could stop the two future ex-teammates, who were counting on ending their association on a high note. The points were linked and it was the same melody that resounded in the sports hall of Santander, that of two artists playing their last concert in front of an audience who had come in large numbers to say goodbye to them.

Final score: 6/2 – 6/0.

Paquito and Martin end this epic in the best possible way and may even harbor regrets, as they have impressed this week. Freed from all pressure since the announcement of their separation, they will have completely extinguished the competition!
