For the first 16th final of the day, court number 4 of the Khalifa International Complex was treated to a committed game between the Spanish pair Fernandez/Diestro and the Hispano-Argentinian duo Gil/Moyano (TS12).

A committed match as one could expect

Xisco's accuracy and Moyano's strength made the difference in the first set. Broken from the start, Diestro and Fernandez run after the score. After a few minutes of hesitation between the referee and the players on a disputed point, it was indeed Xisco and Rami who won the first set 6-4.

But in the second set, Diestro and Fernandez are invigorated! They break from the start and race in the lead throughout the set. The Spanish duo recovers to a set everywhere 4-6.

Gil and Moyano at the end of the suspense

It is ultimately the passion of the Spanish-Argentinian duo that will get the better of Diestro and Fernandez. Xisco Gil and Ramiro Moyano overcome their opponents 6/4 4/6 6/3 in 2h25 of play.

They will face 8th final the recent winners of the WPT Master of Abu Dhabi, Coello and Tapia (TS5) who left no chance to Inigo Jofre and Luis Hernandez (Q): 6/2 6/0. A big match between Hispano-Argentinian pairs is coming tomorrow!
