News from padel, a sport in full emergence and which brings together more and more practitioners in France, was marked a few days ago by the formalization of the program of the FFT PADEL TOUR. This last act is the first large-scale initiative to promote the padel in France, and also the first collaboration between the federation and 4PADEL. Number one practice network padel in France, 4PADEL will host the stages of Valenciennes, Bordeaux and Strasbourg in its clubs.

We (almost) no longer present the padel : sport from the Iberian Peninsula where 4 million practice it, and which is inspired by its cousins tennis and squash. More than 50000 players from padel are listed in France (source FFT), whereas there were only a few hundred in 2014. To introduce the practice to as many people as possible, and bring together some of the best players in the world, the French tennis federation has designed a event tour in 7 cities in France: the FFT PADEL TOUR. This tour will start with Complex 4PADEL de Valenciennes from April 12 to 14, and will also pass by 4PADEL Bordeaux July 5-6-7 and 4PADEL Strasbourg on 6-7-8 September.

We will find all the ingredients for a great " padel ". On the competition side, the inhabitants of Valenciennois, Bordelais and Strasbourg will be able to attend what is done best in terms of padel in France, since the 4PADEL will host international “P2000” tournaments. Some of the best French and Spanish players have already confirmed their participation for the stage of Valenciennes which will inaugurate the tour. On the leisure side, the general public will also be able to see the phenomenon padel up close: in particular in Bordeaux, where an event site will be set up on the Place des Quinconces to offer activities, initiations to young and old and to everyone. Because the practice of this sport in full effervescence is remarkably mixed… one counts moreover half of practicing in Spain!

While last September the elected FFT in charge of padel Hubert Picquier, during the inauguration of complex 4PADEL Bordeaux, referred to the work "hand in hand" between the network and the federation, the FFT PADEL will be the illustration of a virtuous collaboration between the federal and private worlds. And as Arielle Piazza, Sports Assistant at Bordeaux City Hall said at the same inauguration: it will also be an opportunity to “go as close as possible to citizens” in the public square, where “we intrigue, we surprise, we challenge ”, and“ we address the masses, families, children, women, all generations ”.

Guillaume Debelmas, co-founder of network 4PADEL, explains that "this event tour will be a milestone in the French history of padel, and our network is particularly proud to be associated with it by hosting nearly half of the stages. Goal number 1 of 4PADEL is to create sustainable players padel, hence the natural association with this initiative and the FFT in general, which shares the same vision of promoting the discipline ”. "It's unheard of in terms of events padel what is in the process of being prepared, and it is above all the beginning of a great adventure which aims to be part of the long term, for a lasting development of the sport and of its visibility, its notoriety ”enthuses Thomas Dulion, responsible for the development and animation of network 4PADEL.
