This last week of May rhymes with tennis for sport-loving Strasbourg residents and Alsatians, with the WTA tournament of Internationales de Strasbourg. Just before the fortnight of Roland-Garros, the event brings together some of the best players in the world, at the foot of the European Parliament.

The Strasbourg Tennis Club, the largest club in the European capital, which hosts the tournament, also has two tennis courts. padel. The opportunity was therefore dreamed of to ensure the promotion of the padel, especially among female audiences.

Discoveries and initiations

An opportunity not missed Yanis Muesser and Alex Seyller, respectively in charge of the development of the padel to the Grand Est League and Bas-Rhin Tennis Committee. Throughout the week, they offered discoveries and initiations to padel to the public on the grounds of the TCS.

A real success thanks to the good weather in particular and the enthusiasm for this sport. The two organizers welcomed a large number of young people, especially on Wednesdays, and ladies who had tasted the entertainment offered in the evening.

Hockey, soccer and volleyball players

This was particularly the case for women from other sports, from several Strasbourg clubs: the Etoile Noire, ice hockey club of Strasbourg, the women's section of the Racing club Strasbourg Alsace or the volleyball club SUC ball, among others.

Promotion of padel at the 2023 Strasbourg tennis internationals

These future lovers of padel appreciated the invitation of the Departmental Tennis Committee and the League, very invested in the development of the discipline. The atmosphere was there, thanks in particular to the Cheerleaders of Souffelweyersheim (photo above) to the delight of the participants and the public.
