It was a tough battle that awaited our French on the Monegasque track during this 1/8th final. Opposed to the Argentinians Melgratti and Frugoni (TS7), the Moreau/Inzerillo pair again had a very good match. Unfortunately, that won't be enough.

The Argentinians overturned the meeting

Definitely nothing has been easy for the favorites since the start of the tournament. The French went 'outsiders' against the seeded number 7 and they bravely played their luck during this 1/8th final.

The first set is engaged, the games are tight but none of the pairs manages to break. At 4/4, the French relax and Melgratti / Frugoni take the opportunity to take their service. But Jérôme and Maxime do not give up and draw on their mental resources. The dynamics of the match change completely, the tricolor pair unbreaks and regains the advantage. Melgratti and Frugoni face the French furia and once again give up their engagement. The French won the first set 7/5.

defensively, Moreau and Inzérillo are impeccable. The second round is a copy-paste of the first, difficult for a pair to tell the difference. The Argentinians are struggling to destabilize the tricolor pair. But as in the first set, the French put themselves in danger with a drop in intensity and give up their serve at 6/5. This time Melgratti and Frugoni will not miss their chance. They stick to a set everywhere.

In the third round, Moreau and Inzerillo are mistreated. The French are broken from the start and run after the score. Santiago Frugoni and Yain Melgratti ruin the last hopes of our tricolors. There is no photo, the Argentinians master this third set and end up winning 5/7 7/5 6/1.

Last hope for our French women

Now the French are the last tricolor hope for this Master of Monaco. At 15 p.m., the Franco-Spanish pair Mélissa Martin/Carla Fito Fernandez faces our two tricolors Élodie Invernon and Wendy Barsotti. One thing is sure, there will be at least one Frenchwoman in the 1/4 finals of the Monaco CMB Master A1 Padel.
