In its quest for licensees, the FFT tries to bring to Beach tennis and Padel its experience and its organization in order to allow these sports to launch and develop sustainably in France (Heloise Clavel).
Limited financial assistance
However due to the budget restrictions generated by the project of the new Roland Garros, the help of the FFT towards these emerging sports can not be financial.
The FFT nevertheless helps them at the level of infrastructure, mainly for the Beach where each league can borrow the 8 land (poles, nets, lines) beach tennis that owns the FFT to organize major sporting events.
As regards the PadelAs the cost of infrastructure is very high and cannot be moved, they are accompanied by standardization (regulations, organization of competitions) and the provision of processes in order to open structures (companies competent in field construction, etc.).
Indeed by the project Roland Garros, the timing is not ideal to help the development of these disciplines in a financial way.
This assistance also extends during regional championships qualifying for the French championships in terms of endowment (rackets, goodies, prizes, etc.). « When you put a field at Roland Garros the impact is huge Franck Binisti.
Indeed, it is a superb opportunity for both beach and padel to benefit from such visibility for 15 days on one of the biggest tennis tournaments in the world. This allowed both to present these sports to the general public (world-class players came for demonstrations), but also to have them tried, to organize initiations so that everyone can discover a more fun, accessible and friendly version of tennis.
It's a real springboard, a great opportunity to make yourself known. The FFT recognizes that it can not financially support these sports, but offers them access to its communication channels, a boon for these sports, which until then were little known.
Franck Binisti discovered padel at the Club des Pyramides in 2009 in the Paris region. Since then, padel has been part of his life. You often see him touring France to cover major French padel events.
