We were telling you about it a few days ago, the soap opera which stages the World Padel Tour et Premier Padel is not finished yet. After almost a year of "war", it now seems that the Qatari circuit is ready to buy the one managed by Setpoints.

Invited to our colleagues from Sports world, Alejandro Galan confided in what he thought of these discussions between the two circuits.

“We want the best for the discipline”

“All the players want this conflict to end. At present the two circuits have hoisted the white flag in order to resolve the problems between them. These are entrepreneurial issues that do not concern us. However, we want the best for the discipline and the players.”

“Last year it was difficult for the players. It would be a great gift to see this conflict come to an end. We would be very happy to put this sport where it deserves.”

“A quieter year”

“I think this year we are going to be more relaxed mentally because it will be less stressful. Now that the two entities are looking to join forces, we will play with more peace of mind”.

Before concluding his interview, the world number 1 makes a brief assessment of his previous season and admits that: “Sportingly, last year was my best year, but also the most complicated due to the number of tournaments played. […] I start this season from zero without thinking about what I achieved in 2022".

Finally, he dedicates a few words to his former partner, Pablo Lima, who announced a few days ago that 2023 would be his last year as a professional player.

“The news moved me because he is a great player of padel. I admire him enormously for the world number 1 that he was and for the person that he is. I was able to play for six months alongside him and I wish him great success this year, but a little less when we meet!"
