Alejandra Salazar expressed some disappointment over Instagram following Gemma Triay's decision not to continue the adventure with her when she returns.

Triay prefers Ortega to Salazar

This is news that we did not necessarily expect. Indeed, when Gemma has announced to end its association with Ale, many fans were surprised. It must be said that together, the two players won 23 tournaments, and finished twice in a row in first place in the WPT ranking. Additionally, when Salazar said she was taking a break from her season to treat a long-suffering elbow, Triay seemed willing to wait for the one she's shared the track with since 2021.

But now, the association supposed to be temporary with Martita Ortega worked rather well, and the Menorquina preferred to continue with this younger partner. It must also be said that before Ale's forced stop, the “Triazar” pair had experienced a small setback, leaving Josemaria and Sanchez to win at the top of the standings. Could Salazar's new elbow be a game-changer? We won't know, and that's precisely what's causing frustration for the 37-year-old: “I think this pair deserved a different ending, on court”, she expressed on her Instagram account.

Clinging to the values of sport...

If Ale does not fail to thank Gemma for these three years together, she still seems to find her former partner's decision quite unfair, and implies it in this paragraph: “It's a tough time for me as I'm recovering from surgery to treat an elbow injury that I've been dragging on for years. And it is in this situation that I cling the most to the values that sport has taught me for more than 20 years: struggle, effort, empathy, teamwork, not giving up after defeat or injury, self-criticism, the ability to surpass oneself, commitment and respect.”

She also claims to be “sorry to the sponsors who have supported this joint project since day one” and for the fans.

If we read between the lines, we understand that there is a little bitterness on Salazar's side, and we can't wait to find the two players face-to-face!
