Alexis Salles, the captain of the French men's team looks back on the last 4 days in Paraguay before the start (finally!) Of the world championships of padel 2018 in Asuncion. He gives us his analysis on the start of their adventure and certainly already the decisive confrontation of their group against Paraguay:

We had an exceptional chance to be together during 4 days in Paraguay to prepare this competition and we take the opportunity to thank the FFT for their support.

We have now assimilated the jet lag and the players are in great shape. The group lives very well and the atmosphere is really excellent.

Most players trained 2 once a day except Saturday where we had planned 1 single workout. The players took the opportunity to do a muscle building session.

We do daily individual and / or pair meetings to better communicate and to make coaching as effective as possible on D-Day! The motivation is at the top and we feel that the players are really entering the competition that starts tomorrow. I take this opportunity to thank especially Max (Moreau) and Mat (Lapouge) for their great state of mind and the investment they put in the group.

So we start the competition by nation tomorrow at 18h local time (22h in France) by a meeting that promises to be incredible against Paraguay.

The Paraguay team finished 5th in the last world championships and beat us in the first round of the pools (editor's note. 1 World Cup in Lisbon).

With them it will be a meeting of madness in front of an audience that is announced very many.

We look forward to starting this meeting which can be decisive for the rest of these championships. We will give everything!

Go France !
