After her defeat in the second round of the Open 500 de Reus, Anna Cortiles officially withdraws from the World Padel Tour and says goodbye to padel. The 26-year-old player had announced it before the start of the tournament through an Instagram video where she announced her retirement with thanks.

Currently ranked 51st in the world, the native of Tarragona does not give any particular reasons, except that she believes she has given everything: “It's been a long time since I took pleasure in the field and in competition. I feel like I gave it my all as a professional player and now it's time to look for other projects” she says to PadelSpain.

The Catalan therefore played her last match near her home in Reus alongside Sofia Saiz whose future is now unknown.
