Maxi Sanchez is in pre-season mode in Argentina where he finds the club of his debut, that of his father, Mondo Padel, before the start of the various 2023 circuits which promise to be tough on all fronts.

The opportunity for him to confide in the Argentine newspaper El Diario de la Republica.

It was Pablo Lima who decided to leave

Maxi looks back on the start of his 2022 season, performed with Pablo Lima.

"I started the year 2022 with Pablo Lima. We were the 5e world pair. We had some good matches, but the work done was not reflected on the track. It was Pablo who decided to change partners.

So I went back with Lucho Capra who is a friend. The beginnings were complicated. But then we had a great season. We played 20 tournaments together and were even able to reach the Master Final."

Argentina ahead of Spain

In Dubai, Argentina took revenge after their defeat at the World Cup in Doha.

"Spain remained on a victory at the previous World Cup. Argentina was able to show that they were still going strong."

Lucas Compagnolo, another Brazilian partner

As in 2022, Maxi Sanchez will start the season with a Brazilian. But this time it will be Lucas Compagnolo. A player known on the left, who repositioned himself on the right last season with Javi Garrido.

“From next February, I will play with the Brazilian Lucas Campagnolo. He's a player I've been interested in for a while and he had a great season with Javi Garrido. I was surprised because he is originally a left-wing player. And he showed that on the right he was very good.

We have Rodrigo Oviedo as coach and I think we'll form a great team."

Premier Padel opened doors

For the Argentinian, one of the differences between the WPT and Premier Padel, these are the possibilities that have been made possible by the new circuit supported by the International Federation of Padel.

"Premier Padel, unlike the World Padel Tour, gave us access to places we could never have imagined like Roland Garros, Foro Italico and Doha."

The Tiburón (shark, Maxi's nickname), however, does not want to take everything away from the WPT.

"We should be grateful to World Padel Tour. "
