We attack the second theme addressed by the French Tennis Federation concerning arbitration in padel : the net. Seven points are covered here.

How high should the net be at its center?

0,88 m (a tolerance of ± 0,5 cm is allowed).

How high should the net be at its ends?

0,92 m (a tolerance of ± 0,5 cm is allowed).

Trailing 3/0 and 0-15 in the first set, the A/B pair complained that the net was too low. The referee checks it and then corrects the height. Decision ?

The points played remain acquired. The game resumes with the correct score.

Note: if this request is made (and justified) after a faulty 1st service, then the interruption of play will justify replaying a first service.

A player touches the net with his body or his racket. Decision ?

If the ball is still in play, then that player's pair loses the point.

In what cases can a player hit a ball across the net, i.e. into his opponent's half?

In the case of a so-called “retro” ball (ball which leaves directly on the other side of the net after a rebound on its side following a spin or the wind).

Moreover, if a smash hits the back window and returns to the spiker's side, the defender has the right to cross the net with his racquet, without touching it.

Can a player, after hitting the ball on his side of the field, finish his gesture by passing his arm or the racket to the other side of the net?

Yes.

Carried away by his run on a drop shot, a player passes his foot under the net without touching it. Is it a fault?

Yes, if the ball is still in play because the player has set foot on his opponents side.

During a rally, does a ball have to pass over the net to be good?

No, if out-of-court play is permitted, the ball may be returned over the side walls or beside the net, or even directly into the net on the opponents' side.

Note: a ball would be good if, after leaving the field, it came back on the track under the action of the wind (without touching anything and in the case where exits are authorized).
