Focus on Artengo padel rackets. In general, rackets cost less than €100. Even their high-end racket does not exceed €80. What do we think? Are they solid? Who are they suitable for? We will try to help you.
First, more generally, the French brand has a great deal of experience in padel since it has been in the padel world for a very long time, at a time when padel was only known in Spain. Moreover, Artengo is one of the most present brands in the Spanish padel landscape (amateur).
We organized our item from the cheapest racket to the most expensive.
Artento PR730: Snowshoes for children
At Artengo, we don't forget children in padel. They are beginners, without breaking the bank for their parents. You can easily provide this racket to your child. It is very accessible and light. That's all you need in a racket for children. So be careful with the characteristics indicated by Artengo in stores... It is sold as a racket for players with an advanced level... This is absolutely not the case. Clearly the racket is aimed at children who are beginners.
If your child already has a few weeks / month on the clock, it may be necessary to move to another racket more in line with his game.
The racquet is rather round, slightly teardrop. It weighs a little less than 300 gr and is made of fiberglass, carbon (at the handles). We recommend it for children under 10/11 years old.
Racket Padel PR830 Power Red
The Artengo PR830 is a racket aimed at adults who are just starting out. Here too, we don't understand why Artengo tells us that it is a padel racket for experienced players. With a weight of 365 gr and a teardrop shape, the Artengo PR830 is a good racket to feel what padel is all about.
The tennis player will quickly find limits to play with this racket. it is more of an initiation racket. And on this point there, it fulfills its role. You can break it, make your first steps: no problem, it will perfectly fulfill its function.
Note, that certainly the racket is handy, but it has a balance rather access to the edge of the racket which gives a little nervousness to the racket. And it is rather a good thing.
Finally, the PR830 uses its “Evolutive Hole Size” technology. A technology that is found in a number of Artengo models with differences in hole sizes on the frame: some 9mm and others 12mm.
It is a racket for intermediate players, and even with a higher level. The Artengo PR890 has a relatively confirmed head weight. Despite the weight of 365 gr, the racket has the respondent, even if it is not worth the very high-end rackets of other brands. The racket has a teardrop shape and as usual at Artengo, we offer a racket that we control relatively quickly. A racket for less than 70 €…. it is clearly tried.
Racket Padel PR990 Elite
It is Artengo's high-end racket. In reality, it is above all the most offensive model in the Artengo range. A racket that will appeal to players looking for stiffness and aggressiveness.
The Elite offers the Evolutive Hole Size technology, the brand's classic with its different hole sizes, but also 3K carbon at the frame and its famous Innegra fiber which is supposed to increase the resistance of the racket.
The racket is the heaviest the range (373 gr). A racket that could please many players, including confirmed players for less than 80 €…

Hello, thank you for this article!
Which of these Artengo rackets would be most suitable for an adult male amateur tennis player rated 30 wishing to embark on the Padel ?
If you have any other good value for money racket suggestions from other brands, of course,
cordially
Hello Pierre,
Difficult to answer you precisely. Each brand has models for intermediate levels. I invite you to jump here:

Regarding Artengo, today Decathlon launched its new padel brand: KUIKMA

Have a good reading 🙂

Thank you for your answer, yes indeed I saw the new Kuikma brand from Décathlon but it really seems to be aimed at expert players, who already have a lot of practice time behind them. Regarding the question of the quality-price ratio I looked a little at the other brands and difficult to find models under 100 € for intermediate player. In addition it does not seem to me that we can try rackets as is done for tennis. So not obvious. The Artengo Model 860 seems to be quite versatile and may be a bit better than the 830 for my case. Above it already seems to be aimed at experienced players.
