AS Mantaise Tennis Padel officially launches P25Series, tournament series of padel for beginners, aimed in particular at intensifying intergenerational diversity and combating the isolation of seniors.

The game. The game brings people together. Always. And forever.

Today, gaming is ubiquitous in the lives and culture of Millennials and GenZ. It has a prominent place. But it was just as important among the older generations, in other forms.

A common living space, where children, parents and grandparents mingle

On the occasion of the "Blue Week" organized by the City of Mantes-la-Jolie, a week dedicated to seniors and in particular to combat their isolation, AS Mantaise Tennis Padel officially launches P25Series, monthly tournaments of padel for beginners. Against the backdrop of an artistic direction based on “Retrogaming” (vintage video game culture spanning the ages), this series of tournaments aims to strengthen exchanges between generations and in particular to combat isolation among seniors.

Benjamin BLOT – President of AS Mantaise Tennis Padel
“Seniors have and must have a full place within a club. They have experienced it within it and are often more driving forces than one might imagine in the internal life of a club and its animation. If we give them the place they deserve. That's why this year, when we drew the club's project for the next three seasons. Having a senior Commission seemed essential to us. We have appointed a referent, on whom we can rely. It is a relay for sharing the feedback, feelings, ideas and wishes of seniors. »

Recreating a common living space, where children, parents and grandparents mingle and interact is one of the ten areas of work of the roadmap drawn up by the new committee. Using the unifying force of padel – and that of video games – AS Mantaise Tennis Padel wishes through this intergenerational concept to bring back bond and social bond within its club.

Le padel against the isolation of older people

Benjamin BLOT – President of AS Mantaise Tennis Padel
“We said to ourselves: padel is a game. You can do retros in it. On the other hand, video games have crossed the generations for decades and are now more present than ever in the daily lives of young people. Why not be in “the game” and create a story at the intersection of all of this, with a real inclusive and social meaning behind it. This is where we thought that creating communication around the Retrogaming universe made sense. That the club be seen as a giant social and inclusive arcade machine”.

The objectives of these P25Series are clear:

– Discover the padel and encourage practice
– Create emulation and appointments for beginners,
– For all ages, ensuring a generational mix,
– Fighting at the same time sedentary lifestyle (at any age),
– And the risk of isolation among older people,
– Not to mention the “health” benefits,
– All this, in a fun, friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
