François Authier / Pierre Vincent and Norman Sanchez / Nicolas Rouanet gave us an exceptional final at the Open Bourg-Lès-Valence – P1000 category. At the end of the suspense, Authier / Vincent managed to win a final that was badly embarked on, saving two match points in the second set. (2/6 7/6 7/5)

A one-sided first set

Rouanet and Sanchez dominate the first set, being much more effective in all areas of the game. With two breaks ahead in this first set, despite a break from Vincent / Authier in the middle of this first set, Rouanet / Sanchez ends a 3rd break and concludes the first set 6/2.

Authier / Vincent reverses the situation

In the second set, we start with a new break from Rouanet / Sanchez. We say to ourselves that this match is heading for a victory for the pair formed by the Parisian left-hander and the Lyonnais, former partner of Benjamin Joulot.

But little by little, Authier / Vincent returned to the match with a break at 3/4. It's a new match that starts and a big battle that logically leads to a tie-break.

Sanchez / Rouanet gets two match points, one of which should have been decisive. We believe the match is over, but Nicolas Rouanet misses a smash within reach. Hard blow, because behind, this error raises Vincent / Authier who wins the tie-break and therefore returns to a set everywhere.

A completely crazy 3rd set!

Surprisingly, the game is not really oriented on Nicolas Rouanet who we feel a little less well, certainly because of this missed match point that he will most certainly think about this night. Norman Sanchez performs an incredible match and is for a majority of Internet users the MVP of the match, despite the defeat.

The magician François Authier offered us as often points and defenses of which he alone has the secret.

The four players give us a great show and the public pays it back. Despite losing that second set and the frustration on the Sanchez/Rouanet side at having come so close to winning that match in straight sets, the pair are not giving up.

We have the right to six breaks in a row. Authier / Vincent concludes on his serve to win the final round 7/5, but at the cost of exceptional points.

The point of the tournament

It's a gift: we offer you the point of the match and certainly of the tournament with an exchange at 4/4 in the 3rd set which will remain in the memories of players and spectators.
