Baptiste Master is no stranger to tennis and padel. The former -15 in tennis went to Reunion with padel head full! A great project could see the light of day in 2021 in Saint-Denis!

The player of the municipal Tennis club Champ Fleuri in Saint Denis (Réunion) and its 10 green set tennis courts wants to bet more and more on the padel.

I dedicated my life to tennis

I discovered tennis at the age of 7 at the tennis club Hyèrois with Vincent Baudet and I continued tennis at the tennis club in the port of Hyères.

I quickly chose to dedicate my life to tennis. When I was 15, with my parents' agreement, I decided to train with a private coach (Marcelo Wowk) who gave me experiences, especially in Argentina, which will remain engraved.

I climbed the -15 rankings at the age of 19 with exceptional experiences. Thanks to Stade Toulousain tennis, I was able to play against Llodra, Clément, Gicquel, Paire and others.

The rest of my career has been more complicated, with different life choices… injuries…

In 2015, I decided to take my DEJEPS (state diploma in tennis instructor). My diploma in hand, the Toulon tennis club approached me to work with them. After a year, the club entrusted me with the management of padel in parallel with tennis.

From tennis to padel

Conquering the padel : after 3 years of teaching padel, I discovered a different world from what I have known in tennis.

Combining the two allows me to take the good sides of these two sports. At padel, I found a zest for life, a thirst to learn that there is more to tennis nowadays, or in any case it's a bit lost.

And I want to bring all these good sides within my new club and the president, Lhoucen, follows me in this project.

Going to Reunion with this project: the club president was looking for someone who had this double hat. A tennis coach, still a tennis player, and who could also bring this experience to the teaching and practice of padel.

Tennis school and padel : my project is to continue to develop tennis and padel at the club.

We are going to create a school of padel for the start of the 2021/2022 school year.

I also try to bring my experience as a player, by developing internships and tours in Reunion and soon in Metropolitan France.

I want the club to run smoothly and people to enjoy staying there.

Bring in metropolitan players

I would like to bring metropolitan players to events here. I have a lot of friends in Toulon who are very good players and I would love to find a way to bring them here to allow the padel to develop even more in Réunion.

The objective is to introduce the padel to Reunion Islanders, even if it is already well developed on part of the island with guys who do a very good job like Romain Gutstein, Mika Grenier, François Jouque and many others.

Throughout the year internships will be offered.

Dedicated land preparation

I am also working on land preparation here next year in December.

We have a very good climate (30/35 degrees), sports facilities (10 tennis courts, weight room, athletics track, swimming pool), and above all an incredible landscape (mountains, ocean).

This fundamental period was the basis for tennis players wanting to prepare as well as possible but it will also be aimed at tennis players. padel.

For partnerships, we obviously rely on Padel Magazine who is doing a huge job and on our big job of finding sponsors here on the island who will believe, we hope, in our projects. UP TO US TO CONVINCE THEM!

Finally, our project consists of removing a tennis court to install 3 tennis courts. padel. They will be installed in the shape of a "U" to have a specific place of conviviality " padel Between the fields.

In addition, they will be installed in front of the Club House.

The construction is done with the company " Padel International ”and we hope to have them by March 2021.
