Benjamin Tison, stranded in Dubai, in quarantine due to COVID-19, will he be able to return earlier than expected? In any case, this is what the President of the FFT will try to do.

Bernard Giudicelli, the President of the French Tennis Federation sent an email this morning to President of the Federation of United Arab Emirates to help the French not to stay 2 weeks, alone, in confinement, in Dubai.

Benjamin Tison is one of our best players in padel and we sent it to you to play your tournament with its partner Johan Bergeron. This is the first French pair.

Benjamin is currently being tested. If it is negative: it will return.

It must be said that the adventure of the Parisian in Dubai is quite astonishing. He tells us :

I was tested on December 7th. And I was negative.

So I left 2 days later for Dubai to participate in the FIP international tournament alongside my partner Jo.

On December 11, I was tested again by a medical team with 4 other players. And that's where there will be some oddities ...

I was supposed to be tested in 3rd position. However, without any reason or explanation on their part, I was finally tested in 4th position. I didn't say anything of course. There had certainly been an incident.

The next day, December 12, Benjamin Tison asked for the results. But no answer. At around 19 p.m., as he is about to leave the hotel, he is told that a test has revealed that he has COVID-19. His partner Johan Bergeron is authorized to return, he will leave the next day, December 13 at 8:05 am.

But the Parisian must then leave the hotel to be quarantined for 2 weeks in a room at the Rahaba Hospitality Center.

What is surprising is that there is no way to have proof of the results.

On December 14, Benjamin asked to be tested again to confirm the result. It is denied to him.

Yet he has no symptoms of this disease. Everything is fine physically.

The other strangeness of the situation: Johan Bergeron and Benjamin Tison have been living together since December 7. They play together, live together, one is positive and the other negative, it is obviously possible but the opposite would surely have surprised us less ...

For all these reasons, the President of the FFT asked his counterpart from the United Arab Emirates to authorize him to repeat a test.

In the event of a negative result, he could return to Paris on the next flight from Dubai.

The French Embassy has also been informed of this episode and is ready to intervene to help our French to return to the country as soon as possible.
