From September 27 to 29, the Casa club Padel in Saint-Denis (Île-de-France league) will host the 5th edition of the French championships of padel, organized by the FFT and sponsored by Babolat.

This event will bring together the best French players of padel. The 24 pairs of women and men qualified for this final phase will try to win the coveted title of champion of France.

In the women's competition, Alix Collombon and Jessica Ginier, two-time defending champions, will try to make the pass of three! If the players of the league Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes will be great favorites, the competition looks however particularly raised. The pair composed of Audrey Casanova, double French champion in 2015 and 2016 and unhappy finalist of the last two editions, and Carol Ann Lovera (league of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur) will indeed have a nice card to play at of these championships, as well as those composed of Léa Godallier and Mélissa Martin (New Aquitaine league), Laura Clergue and Fiona Ligi (Hauts-de-France league) or Amélie Feaugas and Maï Vo (league of new Aquitaine).

On the men's side, Johan Bergeron and Bastien Blanqué (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes league), reigning double French champions, will also be aiming for a third consecutive coronation. They will nevertheless have to be wary of their main rivals: Adrien Maigret and Benjamin Tison, from the Ile-de-France league. Jérémy Scatena and Robin Haziza (Grand-Est league), French champions in 2015 and 2016, Simon Boissé and Loïc Le Panse (Île-de-France league), as well as Justin Lopes and Jérémy Ritz (Provence-Alpes-Côte d 'Azur), will also try to be successful in this event. If the padel attracts more and more practitioners every year, this owes nothing to chance.

This discipline, born in Mexico in the 1970 years (see page 4), proves to be particularly playful, accessible and addictive. Practitioners, esteemed more than 70 000 in France, and take advantage of the multiplication of land in France (600 currently) to indulge in their new passion in clubs affiliated with the FFT.
