The number 5 seed, made up of the Frenchwoman Carla Touly and Portuguese Catarina Castro Vilela, continues its journey in London as part of the FIP Rise Stratford. The duo recorded convincing victories against the number 9 pair, Elodie Invernon and Aimee Gibson (6/2 4/6 6/1), as well as against the number 18 pair, Marie-Amélie Dardaine and Marie Maligo (7/6 6 /2).

Head to the semi-finals: they will face the Dutch Lia Groenveld and Bo Luttikhuis, who created a surprise by eliminating the number 1 seed of the tournament, Marcella Koek and Stephanie Weterings.

Carla Touly looks back on her two great matches won before the semi-final of the FIP Rise Stratford in London:

“Two matches won against French women. My partner helped me a lot. In the first match, it was complicated for me, but my partner helped me a lot. Then, in the second match, it was the opposite: she was in difficulty and I played really well. This is why we are a good team. We manage to support each other when one of us is having a hard time. We are in the semi-final, and obviously, the objectives evolve with the victories. We think we have the potential to go all the way, but that will necessarily require two more good matches. Tomorrow we will play against a Dutch pair who took out the 1st seed from the tournament, so I think it is good for us, although we will have to stay focused and deliver a good match.”
