The Somme Tennis Committee and the Tennis Club Amiens Métropole – Padel & Badminton renewed, for the third time, their weekend dedicated to padel women, with the organization of two tournaments, on Saturday November 19 and Sunday November 20, 2022.

A national-level tournament, in the P1000 category, was an opportunity to see some of the best French players in the discipline evolve, with the presence of members of the French Top 10. It is also a participation record for a tournament of padel women in France, with no less than 30 teams participating in this tournament!

From a sporting point of view, 16 teams competed in pools on Saturday morning, then on Saturday afternoon, the qualified teams entered the final draw (1/16rd, 1 / 8rd and ¼ finals). Sunday was devoted to the ½ finals and the final.

On this P1000, the victory goes to Camille Sireix and Laura Buteau (seed number 7), who beat in the final the seeded number 2 of the tournament, composed of Océane Kik and Priscilla Heise. The final unfortunately ended at 1/1 in the 3rd set after Priscilla's injury.

For the game of 3rd place, Élise David-Bordier and Jennifer Denecheau disposed of Nastasia Boitier-Legourd and Marine Fontaine.

A lower category women's tournament (P100) was also organised, alongside the P1000, on Sunday, with 10 participating teams. It is the local pair Coralie Alexandre / Anne-Sophie Devillier who retains her title by beating Cécile Palicot and Nathalie Mancion, in an overexcited atmosphere.

Optimal conditions

All the financial or logistical partners allow the organization to welcome the players in very good conditions in order to make this weekend a real "party" of the padel feminine :

  • Provision of a driver to transport the players with the Volvo partner.
  • Setting up a platform and decorating the room padel with many plants
  • Hotel pick-up for semi-finalist pairs
  • Players' evening with cocktail reception on Saturday evening
  • Very nice raffle (mountain bike, sound bar, speaker, packed basket, etc.) with draw at the end of the finals on Sunday

Proof that these tournaments are starting to "rise in power", nearly 200 spectators were present on Sunday to watch the finals.

Finally, a huge THANK YOU and “big-up” to all the volunteers (more than 20 people mobilized over the weekend) and employees of the Tennis Club Amiens Métropole – Padel & Badminton, without whom the organization of these tournaments would not be possible.
