The afternoon got off to a flying start in Toulouse with a very interesting line-up between Marie Lefevre (9th) and Mélaine Ros (10th) against two very solid players, Mai Vo (189th) and Tiffany Phaysouphanh (12th).

The latter managed to create the first surprise of these French Championships by eliminating the number 4 seed in a match mastered from start to finish. A 6/4 6/2 victory that allows Vo and Phaysouphanh to gain confidence before starting the rest of the adventure.

Absent from the P2000s this year, Mai, a former international and vice-champion of France, proved that she had lost none of her brilliance. Moved to the right to play these French Championships alongside Tiffany Phaysouphanh, she brings all her experience to a young player who is only progressing.

It is therefore a more than successful entry for this pair which eliminates two players who were part of the selection for the internship in the French team!

Thanks to this success, those who were coached by Laurent Imbert this afternoon will meet the Bourra / Carre pair later in the day.
