A surprise, but not that much. The stage at Riyadh P1, which marks the start of the season Premier Padel, continues to reserve its share of surprises: after the elimination in the second round of Paquito Navarro and Sanyo Gutierrez against Javi Rico and Juanlu Esbri, as well as that of Fernando Belasteguin and Lucho Capra, it was the turn of Federico Chingotto and Momo Gonzalez (5) to be beaten 6-3 7-6 by Mike Yanguas and Javi Garrido (10).

The three best pairs in the world are still in the running. Juan Lebron and Ale Galan (1) beat Coki Nieto and Jon Sanz (9) 7-5 6-3 and now await Campagnolo/Gutierrez (13). Likewise, Franco Stupaczuk and Martin Di Nenno (3) won their match against Gonzalo Rubio and Maxi Sanchez (11) in straight sets (6-4 6-1). Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia (2) needed a third set to beat Denis Perino and Alex Chozas. However, the lower part of the table was the most affected in terms of elimination of the top seeds: in the quarter-finals for Coello / Tapia, there is Alejandro Arroyo and Edu Alonso (14), in a half of the main table which also saw the defeat of Alex Ruiz and Juan Tello (7) against Sager/Oria, now awaited by Rico/Esbri.

On the female side, it's rather quiet. Seven of the eight seeds reached the quarterfinals, the only exception being the victory of Carolina Navarro Bjork (48) and Marina Guinart, who beat Iglesias Segador/Las Heras (8) and will face Delfina Brea and Bea in the quarterfinals Gonzalez. The other quarter in the top half of the table will be played between Castelló/Jensen (6) and Ortega/Triay (3). Up top, Paula Josemaria and Ari Sanchez (1) won 6-1 6-3 against Sharifova/Carnicero; in the quarters, they will face Aranzazu Ozoro and Veronica Virseda (7). The other quarter will pit Virginia Riera/Sofia Araujo (5) against Alejandra Salazar and Tamara Icardo (4).
