After long months of waiting, the first stage of the world circuit of padel has just closed its doors. This inaugural stage which broke all audience records with 1 million simultaneous viewers on Gol, which broadcasts the competition, and 2,5 million in total.

A week of fierce battle on the track of the Olympic center Badalone and winners that were not expected for both tables. You could not follow the tournament, Padel Magazine did it for you.

  • Male table

            After the draw, everyone was hoping for a final between world number one Fernando Belasteguin and Pablo Lima and the new pair Paquito Navarro / Juan Martin Diaz. It was not so with a title for Sanyo Gutierrez and his former (3 years ago) and new partner Maximiliano Sanchez. Opposite the young wolves Belluati / Lebron, who had the luxury of beating the seeded one in half-finals with a real recital of Juan Lebron, the new 13ème world player.

In the world ranking, no major upheavals but we are getting closer and closer and not from the one who makes the most noise.             Little to no surprise before the semi-finals in this table before the huge thunderclap and the defeat of Alayeto's world number one binoculars. Gemma Triay and Lucia Sainz are not unknown but few people would have bet on their victory in half on the queens of the circuit then against Marta Marrero and Alejandra Salazar after a breathtaking match 2 / 6 7 / 5 6 / 4.

The champions of Badalone take advantage of this victory to take the 3th place at Marta Marrero. The twins still have enough mattresses at the top of the global hierarchy to see come after their 2017 season almost perfect.

            Even the World Padel Tour was overtaken by our reigning French champion! No photo on his profile yet but a sensational entry to 79th place in the ranking. There is still a lot of work to do as she says herself but it is very encouraging for her debut on the professional circuit!

            Next step of the 3 at 8 April in Alicante for an Open this time. Category lower than the Master, but do not worry as far as there will be all the best. Our French will be there from the pre-qualifiers on the male side and in the final table we hope for our two French.
