The Open 4Padel Bordeaux 2023 will remain a somewhat special tournament for host Cyril Hanouna since he certainly achieves his best P1000 there so far.

Alongside the Spaniard, Teo Zapata, (top 60 in the world), they managed to win their first match in 16th of the main draw against two players from the top 100 French players, Romain Coirault (61) and Vincent Lamblin (91). Admittedly, Romain had back discomfort that did not allow him to defend his chances 100%, but as he explained to us: “He surprised us, he was consistent, he played very well and congratulations on this great victory. ”.

An eighth against the No. 2 seed

In the next round, the tournament's second seed, Loic Le Panse and Mathieu Armagnac, seemed far too strong to be worried about by the Hanouna / Zapata pair. And yet once again, the Franco-Spanish pair surprised to the point of taking a set from them during a new tie break. Hanouna and Zapata finally suffer a defeat at the finish, but will have delivered two very good matches which will re-motivate the host, especially in the context of his “Objectif top 2” series.

He will take points this weekend. But this is still not enough. It will be necessary to confirm during the next events, and it will not be easy.

Zapata put in the fridge

Some will say that Hanouna took the place of another player, others will say that if he achieved this feat, it is only thanks to his partner. We prefer to remember this little feat of the host who was promised bitter defeats in this P1000 and who, in the end, performs well.

To play against players from the French top 100, you must nevertheless be able to be consistent and succeed in countering the onslaught of opponents, especially since Teo Zapata was logically put “in the fridge” by the opponents.

The public responded present on site at 4PADEL Bordeaux. The race continues with shifts scheduled to start around 19 p.m.
