For a few days and the announcement of the separation between Paquito Navarro and Martin Di Nenno, the planet padel saw a wave of separations. And now, thanks to the interview granted by Di Nenno to the media Olé, we know a little more about the reasons that led the Argentinian and the Andalusian to put an end to their collaboration.

“An irregular season”

“We had an irregular season to say the least in terms of level of play. We could play a final during a tournament and fall in the quarter the following week. The reasons which pushed us to put an end to this association are mainly the results but also it should not be denied the feelings that we had towards each other. I felt that Paco didn't have the same energy as at times and I hope that changing partners will give him that boost of motivation. I don't know if it came from me or not but it's a feeling that I could have.

An inevitable separation?

When for his Premier Padel Greenweez which was held at Roland-Garros last July, we had the chance to talk for a moment with Martin Di Nenno. During this exchange the native of Ezeiza already evoked with emotion the difficulties that the two players had to support each other:

“On a mental level, we're trying to get the family to travel with us a bit more. It becomes difficult, especially when you lose a lot of quarter-finals. Sometimes on Mondays, I don't necessarily want to see Paco, and neither does he, but we still have to train. There are pairs that support the high pace of tournaments better, and we less well. We are very sensitive and transparent, and there are days when we don't want to be together."

At Olé, the young player confirms that he no longer felt as comfortable as at the start of their union and that a new adventure with a new teammate will surely be the best solution.

“It was a Saturday, we had just played our match, we had a sincere chat and I told him that I didn't feel as comfortable as before. It was perhaps time for me to start a new adventure with a new partner who would have the same motivation as me.

“Good relations with Paquito”

As you will have understood, this very long season will have exhausted a good number of players and the two men needed a change of scenery and come back with new objectives. If a good number of aficionados may have had their hearts broken when they read the news, Paquito and Martin have experienced it very well.

“Our relationship with Paco is very good. He understood that we separate the professional from the staff and I am very happy to have discussed it with him. He wants everything to go well for me and it's a shared feeling!” concludes the Argentinian.
